The project is a collection of still life photographs. The main premise of 'Pananalamin" is to fabricate the artist's unexpressed vanity and extend its understanding of the self through photographs. The subjects are objects related to personal vanity—bags, make up, hair tools, hair dye, and perfumes, etc. These were chosen as these are the personal vessels that reflect the vanity of the photographer. It talks about how objects become an object of self attribution. It is a realization and reflection of repressed identity through vanity which is projected to these objects. The project revisits and acknowledges the photographer's definition of vanity. The objects and sets were highly stylized, using velvet fabrics, mirrors, artificial plants, and other objects that would reveal the identity of the photographer. The set is lighted and styled to make the subjects sophisticated, valuable, lavish, and extravagant. As such the objects are to its owner.
